Refurbishment of RM90

This was a substantial undertaking given the sheer size and complexity of this monster machine. Having been worked hard for Iarnród Éireann / Irish Rail over a number of seasons, there was a lot of work to do! Both the “factory” and the “train” were in need of attention. The project team, led by Rhomberg Sersa Ireland Projects Manager Peter Watson and Ian Sempers of Neil Thorne Engineering, undertook the job with enthusiasm at Irish Rail’s Inchicore Works. We also received assistance from some of our colleagues from Rhomberg Sersa North America who spent their winter months in Ireland.

The machine returned to service in March 2020 and as can be seen from the video, the maintenance crew were very sad to see it depart!
